I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. I work with couples and have a particular interest in helping partners better understand the patterns that leave them feeling disconnected, misunderstood, or stuck in the same arguments. My approach is attachment-based and informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method, allowing me to explore both the deeper emotional needs beneath conflict and the practical changes that can help couples move forward.
Couples often come to therapy feeling as though they are having the same conversation over and over without reaching a resolution. One partner may feel unheard or alone, while the other may feel criticized, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to respond. In sessions, we slow these interactions down and look at the cycle that has developed between you. Rather than focusing on who is right or wrong, we work to understand what each person is experiencing, what may be difficult to express, and how both partners can begin responding to one another in a different way.
I aim to create a balanced and non-judgmental space where both partners feel heard, respected, and included in the therapeutic process. Alongside exploring emotional and attachment needs, I offer practical strategies to support healthier communication, conflict repair, trust, emotional closeness, and rebuilding connection. I believe that meaningful change often happens when couples are able to recognize the pattern as the problem, rather than viewing one another as the problem.
My style is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I understand that beginning couples therapy can feel vulnerable, particularly when conversations have become tense or when there has been hurt within the relationship. I aim to make the process feel approachable and genuine rather than overly clinical. My goal is to help couples develop a deeper understanding of themselves and one another, communicate with greater openness, and create meaningful, lasting changes in their relationship.
